Lady Gaga Makes Film Debut

Lady Gaga’s role in Robert Rodriquez’s Machete Kills was announced informally today via Twitter. Rodriguez tweeted: “I just finished working with @LadyGaga on@MacheteKills , she kicked SO MUCH ASS! Holy Smokes. Blown away!”

It should be interesting to see how her character, La Chameleon, interacts with those of Danny Trejo & Mel Gibson. This may be the first case where I feel completely comfortable believing that someone is going to get along with both of those men. Even if she is a cameo merely to sell more tickets, (Hello Angelina)  I hope she gets to exchange some lines with Trejo. The weirdness of that thrills me.

While no statements have been made about the size of her role, I’m still surprised by how many beautiful women Rodriquez has fighting for screen time – he has Amber Heard and Sofia Vergara in the mix. Then again, it worked for Sin City.
