Amanda Loves Aaron Paul, Joseph Gordon-Levitt Got Hurt and Indy Returns!

The Olympics are over (Canada got one whole gold medal! Good for them!) and Mitt Romney’s VP sounds like a character out of American Psycho. Time to find out what we learned this week:

• Pop Focal’s Amanda Kusek really loves Aaron Paul of AMC’s Breaking Bad. So much so she had to tell us about a new movie he’s in that starts shooting in September and she even went retro showing off a late-90s commercial where he treats Pops like meth.
• Joseph Gordon-Levitt broke out this summer as Det. Blake in the finale to the Dark Knight trilogy. While we’re also excited to see him in the sci-fi thriller Looper (out this fall), his next movie opens this month and features him crashing into cabs and other objects while flying around NYC on his bike. Unfortunately, he actually needed some stitches when he plowed through the rear window of an actual NYC taxi during filming. Check out this behind the scenes which shows some of the damage.
• He’s Indy… Indy… in IMAX! Resident geek Jon told us about the return of Indiana Jones, and not in the Crystal Skull sort of “return”, but the original prints being scaled up for IMAX screens this fall.
• We learned that movie studios won’t quit ruining our childhoods as they plan another sequel to A Christmas Story.
• Abby Elliot, daughter of Chris Elliot, who should have had a shot to break-out this coming season on SNL now that big-wig Kristin Wiig is gone, decided she’s leaving and won’t return in the fall.
• And we also learned you don’t need a time machine to see Michael J. Fox on network television — he’s returning next fall in his own sitcom that’s currently being shopped around.
