For those of us in the United States we had to watch the games on very long delay or figure out a way to watch them online (which was much better). NBC tried to heighten the drama by creating fake plots. Universally (or at least nationally) everyone hated NBC’s coverage.
Aside from the crappy coverage was volleyball. Volleyball gave us the most watchable sport ever televised. Gabby who? McKayla whats-her-name? Nah, it’s all about beach volleyball.
The fans were so roudy it was only a matter of time before TLC offered them all a reality series.
